Our Thoughts . . .

Earlier this month, I celebrated a milestone birthday, the BIG 5-0 !! Teasingly, family, friends and even I made comments about growing old and making adjustments.

But, I didn’t realize that I would be making some so quickly personally and professionally. Both are forcing the routine flow of my personal & business life to make adjustments. Personally, I injured my foot/ankle: I can’t move as fast; I can’t do as much to keep up with the demands of family and the business; I tire faster because my body has to put so much energy into healing.

On top of the frustration of my foot, we had to upgrade our computer system before peak season was over. What was supposes to be a “quick” upgrade to all three of our computers has become a longer process than expected. But then again, that should not have surprised me since we are talking computers and software! So, my office is a mess; we don’t have all our computers up, and the flow within the store, as well as, within my husband’s office has been disrupted and has complicated the website updates. So peak season 2013 is coming to a close with a bang!

Adjustments: complain, complain, complain!!!! But, in the midst of all this, I had to praise the Lord…….

1. It was my left foot so I could still drive

2. I have an automatic car

3. I didn’t break anything

4. I was able to see the doctor right away and start laser therapy

5. It was not the middle of peak season when we are really busy

6. My husband knows about computers/software and doesn’t give up easily

7. The check out/inventory computer in the store is upgraded & working

8. Updates are slower and more tedious; but are being done

9. 80% of the inventory had been entered before the slowdown

10. Our customers are being very understanding as I limp along

11. God is providing solutions and we ARE adjusting

If we will stop and start Praising The Lord after the complain, complain, complain, the adjustments to the flow of life will become easier and workable.

In the midst of Isaiah prophesying future judgment, A Hymn of Praise is spoken.

“Praise the Lord, call upon His name; Declare His deeds among the people, make mention that His name is exalted, Sing to the Lord, for He has done excellent things; this is known in all the earth.” Isaiah 12:4-5

The truths given for the nation of Israel are principles taught throughout the Bible.

As you work through any adjustments you may be facing this early in the school year or anytime in the future, quickly let out all the complaining and just as quickly turn to the Praise!
